Visit Grand Akshardham Temple & Transfer to Agra
This morning after breakfast you will visit the Grand Akshardham Temple. Architecturally, the mandir is an homage to traditional Indian Hindu architecture. The Akshardham mandir consists of 234 intricately carved pillars, 9 ornate domes, 20 quadrangle spires and 20,000 statues of India’s Hinduism’s spiritual personalities. The mandir reaches 141.3 feet into the sky, spans 316 feet in width, and is 356 feet long. More than 300,000,000 volunteer hours went into making the complex and over 8,000 volunteers from across the world participated in building it. Temple is built from intricately carved sandstone and marble. There are open gardens, water bodies and a step-well styled courtyard. The exhibitions are displayed in three large halls, each with a unique display style. The three halls are: Sahajanand Darshan – Hall of Values; Neelkanth Darshan – Large Format Film; Sanskruti Darshan – Cultural Boat Ride. This early morning at sunrise you will visit the famous Taj Mahal-the symbol of love, built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. After breakfast you will visit the Agra fort, built by the great Emperor Akbar and the tomb of Etimad-ud-Daula often described as Jewel Box or the Baby Taj and is regarded as a draft of the Taj Mahal. Chand Baori consists of 3,500 narrow steps over 13 stories. It extends approximately 30 m (100 ft) into the ground making it one of the deepest and largest stepwells in India.
